2 mL/kg of 25% dextrose solution.
Hypoglycemia is treated with 2 to 4 mL/kg of 25% dextrose solution. It consists of 0.5 to1.0 g/kg of dextrose in a concentration (25%) that is acceptable for a child. (Higher concentrations such as 50% are too hyperosmolar.)
